Three companies applied for the lands allocated by Ministry of Tourism for building a golf course and five hotels

Good news for Didim, in that there were no applications for the other provinces (Isparta, Izmir- Çesme, Kars, Kayseri, Usak and Yozgat) in which allotments were made by the ministry for touristic purposes.
The names of the applicant companies and their bids have not been disclosed. It was stated that the results of the bids, which were submitted to the ministry by closed envelope open tender, would soon be announced.
This raises the profile for Didim to other investors also. On top of that the Altinkum Marina continues to steam ahead, a 30 month contract - with a completion date of March 2010.
The applications for the two Golf Courses and five Hotels, allocated in Didim and Akbük by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, closed on the 30th of January.

The allocation will be made through tendering procedure and the three companies with the top offers will be invited to the auction in February. At the end of the auction, the company that gives the best offer will be allocated the lands. Most of the allocations will be made for 49 years.
If the prices set by the Ministry are paid, the constructions will start for the two golf courses and five hotels that will usher a new age for Didim.
Last month the Ministry of Culture and Tourism had announced the areas allocated for the golf courses as Mercimek (the area on the Akbük Road where the Sultan Kent, Zonguldaklilar and Konya Kültür housing estates are) and Göllüdam (the upper part of Denizköy, again on the Akbük Road).
The Ministry had also announced that besides these two golf courses, allotments would be made for the building of 5 hotels, one with a capacity of 750 beds, and a holiday village with a capacity of 250 beds.
